Why I Created Hey30s+

When I moved to London 6 years ago, I had just turned 30 and what some people would probably call a 'mid-life crisis.'
I quit my stable job, ended my relationship, and somewhat impulsively decided to move to London. I didn't have a big plan. I just knew I needed a change, something new, something that felt like mine.
London is an amazing city. It's vibrant, exciting, full of opportunities, and there is always something happening. But it can also be incredibly lonely.
What people don't tell you is that making friends after 30 is not easy. Everyone already has their friends, their routines, their partners, their colleagues, their lives. And when you add a big city like London into the mix, it can feel even harder. You can be surrounded by millions of people and still feel like you don’t really know anyone.
I am a planner by nature. I like to organise, to bring people together, to create things. And at some point, I stopped waiting for the 'right moment' or for someone else to create the kind of community I was looking for, and I decided to do it myself.
I didn't want networking events. I didn't want awkward small talk in a loud bar or pretentious events. I wanted real connections. Real conversations. The kind of friendships where you can text someone on a random Tuesday and ask if they want to go for a walk, a coffee, or try a new class.
So I created Hey30s+.
The idea is simple: to help women in their 30s (and beyond) meet, connect, and build genuine friendships in London. To make this big city feel a little bit smaller. To create a space where you can show up alone and leave feeling like you belong.
If you are new to London, if your friends moved away, if your life changed, if you feel like you want to meet new people but don't know where to start, this is for you.
And if you've ever felt lonely in a big city, just know that you are not the only one. Not even close.
Welcome to Hey30s+. 🤍
